SOME OF DANNY'S WALKS & EXPERIENCES
DATELINE - November 29 - December 8, 2000 -- Danny visited the Philippines
for a walk organized jointly by the Red Cross, the National Press
Club, with support from the Phillippines Department of Interior and
Local Government.
His walk started in Ilocos Norte and ended in Manila - A Walk for
Children & World Peace. The walk covered towns and cities in Ilocos
Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga and Bulacan.
Danny stopped in major churches to pray for peace and gave short talks
to the people.
DATELINE AUSTRALIA --- SYDNEY 2000 Olympics
Danny Garcia was in Canberra on Wednesday, September 6 and met with
Senator Margaret Reid, the President of the Senate, in Canberra.
Danny was blessed by the company of a young film crew from Perth Modern
School. Four Perth Modern media students, Lee Wilkinson, Annabelle
Afan, Julie Sandolova and Anthony Crocker (see photo) filmed the wonderful
events Danny and were involved in from Sept 6 to Sept 15 in Canberra
and Sydney, culminating in Sydney with the Bruce Foster's live performance
of "One Night of Peace" on September 14 on the eve of the Opening
of the Sydney 2000 Olympics on September 15.
Danny and the student crew saw Nelson Mandela and gave him a Jubillenium
candle. Nelson Mandela was in Canberra that day to receive an honorary
doctorate from the Australian National University.
Danny Garcia also travelled from Canberra to Melbourne meet children
from Tate Street Primary School and to join in the celebrations of
Reconciliation Week.
